In addition to her professional accomplishments, Julianne takes pride in her upbringing on a farm, her active involvement in sports, 4-H, and church during her childhood, and her academic journey that led her to graduate from Hanover College in 1988 and earn her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso School of Law in 1991.

Julianne's dedication to her family is equally noteworthy, with 29 years of marriage to her husband, Bob, and two sons, Connor and Michael, who are pursuing their own paths to success. Her commitment to her community, legal profession, and the pursuit of justice makes her a respected and admired figure in the legal community.

Julianne Havens is an accomplished attorney with extensive trial experience, currently serving as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in LaPorte Circuit Court. Throughout prosecuting crimes for over 27 years, Julianne handled major felony cases ranging from murder to child exploitation. She started her career as a Judicial Law Clerk, which provided her with an understanding of the importance of a solid working relationship between a judge and the clerk’s office. Having prosecuted cases in front of at least 20 different judges in northern Indiana, Julianne formulated unique insights into the qualities that make an effective judge. Guided by values of honesty, fairness, and hard work instilled by her parents, Bob and Carolyn Holm, Julianne is known for her meticulous approach to decision-making and willingness to seek advice when needed. A Hanover College and Valparaiso School of Law graduate, Julianne is also a devoted wife and mother, actively involved in her community. Her unwavering commitment to justice and dedication to the victims of criminal conduct or clients she’s represented make Julianne Havens a respected figure in her legal profession.

Julianne Havens is an accomplished attorney and an ardent advocate and community leader who’s actively engaged in diverse organizations and initiatives that underscore her dedication to improving her community. When Julianne previously resided with her husband in Starke County for 13 years, she served as the Secretary of the Starke County Community Corrections Advisory Board, where she contributed to the formulation of policies for the county’s first community corrections. In addition, she was an active member of Starke County’s Child Protection Team, its Child Fatality Review Team, and the Drug & Tobacco-Free Starke County Board, all of which worked to enhance the safety and well-being of the community and where Julianne passionately tackled pressing issues.

Beyond her legal pursuits, Julianne previously served on the Board of the Phoenix House, a transitional house for abused women, and the Starke County Community Foundation’s Legacy of Women Board. For the church where Julianne grew up attending weekly, she participated in the life of St. Matthew Lutheran Church as the Sunday School Superintendent and organist.

During her 19 years of residing in LaPorte, Julianne’s devotion to her community has been further exemplified through her involvement as her sons’ Cub Scout Leader and helping with their Boy Scout Troop 396. She continued to actively support her sons by attending and cheering at their summer soccer league games, band concerts, and LaPorte Cross Country and Track meets. Julianne became a member of St. John’s Lutheran church in LaPorte in 2011 (the same church she and her husband, Bob, were married in 1994). Julianne has been a member of the Indiana Extension Homemaker’s Club since 1999, and she is a member of the LaPorte County Bar Association. On a lighter note, Julianne enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, traveling (especially to National Parks), gardening, and running with her German Shepherd.

Since her time serving in the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office, Julianne has given vital contributions to LaPorte County’s Multidisciplinary Team for child physical and sexual abuse cases. She has participated in LaPorte County’s sexual assault team. Julianne has worked closely with law enforcement officers for over 30 years, fostering a tightly-knit support network and mutual respect. Julianne demonstrates her dedication by making herself available to assist when called upon. Her multifaceted engagement underscores her steadfast commitment to instigating positive change within LaPorte County.
